APSEA learners and their caregivers are invited to participate in a fun and supportive Teddy Bear Clinic experience. Children will bring their favorite teddy (or other stuffed animal) and take on the role of caregiver as their teddy goes through a mock medical visit.
Children will share their teddy’s name, describe their "illness or injury," and support their teddy through different medical stations (with real Dr’s and nurses) such as triage, ophthalmology, audiology, blood work, x-rays, casting, asthma care, mental health support, and dental care.
This experience is designed to help children feel more comfortable with the medical environments.
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Learners in this program will have opportunities to:
- Explore medical environments in a safe, playful way
