Moving Up! Supporting Learners who are DHH as they enter Junior High or High School​

This session supports school staff in understanding the transition to junior high and high school for learners who are Deaf/hard of hearing. Participants will explore common barriers, consider how school environments impact access, and learn practical strategies to support communication, participation, and independence. The Transition Activity Guide will be shared as a tool to support student planning and collaboration.

Participants in this program will have opportunities to:

  • Understand the impact of high school environments on learners who are DHH
  • Identify barriers related to communication, access, and participation  
  • Learn practical strategies to support inclusion and independence  
  • Use the Transition Activity Guide to support student planning 

Audience: School Staff
Language: English with ASL interpretation available
