For learners in grades 7 to 12 who are blind and low vision.
The Skills for Life Summer Challenge is a chance for learners to complete as many fun skills-building challenges as possible, level up, and win prizes!
Mini challenges are designed to encourage learners to practice:
- Socializing and communicating
- Skills for everyday independent living
- Recreational and leisure
- Self-advocacy and self-determination
Think of it as an engaging summer bingo card! Participants have 6 weeks to complete challenges at home and in their communities.
Learners are also invited to join a relaxed virtual gathering 3 weeks into the challenge to share experiences and again at the end to celebrate.
Facilitators: Led by Education Support Specialist Mentors (BLV), Jennifer Fancy and Jennie Bovard.
