Juice Box Conversations: Our lived experience (DHH)

Do you have a learner in your class who is Deaf/hard of hearing? Would your class benefit from a virtual presentation by an APSEA Deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) Mentor who will share their lived experience in a fun and engaging way for the whole class? Register now, for Juice Box Conversations!

This session blends a short, student-friendly presentation with time for questions, discussion, and real examples that help classmates understand communication, inclusion, and community. Simply register for a topic and we will work with you to find a time that fits into the classroom schedule.

In this program, learners will have opportunities to:

  • Build their understanding of Deaf/Hard of Hearing experiences in a classroom-appropriate way.
  • Learn simple strategies that support clear communication, inclusion, and friendship.
  • Ask questions in a safe, supportive setting.
  • Leave with practical ideas they can use right away to support their classmate.

Grades/Age Level: All grades
Language: English with ASL interpretation available, ASL with English translation available
Dates/Times: Flexible

Schedule

Teachers can request a date that works for their class. An APSEA staff member will follow up to confirm a time and finalize details. We will do our best to accommodate preferred schedules while balancing requests across the region.

Registration

Online learning programs are for students who qualify for APSEA services. Registration must be completed by their APSEA Education Support Teacher (EST). Contact your APSEA Education Support Specialist to register.
